King Of High School Episode 9

Works falls to the wayside as we get an entire episode dedicated to the adorable antics of our new couple, Min Suk and Soo Young. It’s nothing but walks in the park, island trips, and too many kisses to count. While his co-workers are falling love, Jin Woo continues his mission to find out what the hell is up with Min Suk and what secrets he’s hiding.

King Of High School Episode 9

Min Suk and Soo Young are officially together. They are pretty adorable, I gotta say. Min Suk can’t seem to stop kissing Soo Young or holding her hand. Walking back to Soo Young’s apartment, they start doing that cute, but also annoying, Ross thing: “you go in first,” “no you,” “alright on the count of three.” Really, couples.

When Min Suk gets back to the training grounds, the coach punishes him for leaving. The two awesome friends made up an excuse for him but now they’re curious as to where he really went. Min Suk just starts giggling and generally being ecstatic. Not even able to wait that short amount of time, Min Suk and Soo Young are soon on the phone saying they miss each other already. It’s so sickeningly cute.

While they’re talking, Yoo Ah sends a text to Min Suk asking if he liked the food she prepared for his trip. Nooo, I’m getting that queasy feeling in my stomach. I think the Min Suk/Soo Young couple is adorable, but I feel so sorry for Yoo Ah, who is blind to who her sister is really dating. The fallout is going to be much worse once everything is revealed. Right now though, Yoo Ah is enjoying watching her sister act like a little girl in lurrrvvve.

When Min Suk turns to leave after hanging up, his friends are standing right there. He clearly wouldn’t have been able to keep his new relationship a secret, though, so it’s best they find out right away. His friends point out that Soo Young doesn’t know anything about Min Suk. She still believes he’s the ultra-successful company director Lee Hyung Suk. They’re all best friends, though, so they intersperse the serious conversations with flailing and excitement over Min Suk’s new girlfriend.

Even at home, Min Suk is in a blissfully happy mood. Soo Young is just as excited, as she tries on different bags before heading off to work to the sounds of Yoo Ah asking to meet the special guy. The other female employees at the office notice that Soo Young’s dressed extra nice, is wearing makeup and perfume, and has her hair down.

The next scene in the office with the President is a little confusing, but here’s what I got. Min Suk’s adoptive Dad used to be a chauffeur for Lee Jung Soo, whom I’m assuming is Min Suk’s birth father. Apparently the President knew both of them somehow, as he recognized Min Suk’s Dad from when he used to be a chauffeur. Right now, my best guess is that Lee Jung Soo used to work for Comfo, which is going to tie in with why Lee Hyung Suk got a job there.

Min Suk and Soo Young have a little lunch date on the roof. Min Suk keeps pretending to be hurt so that Soo Young will take care of him. He’s such a kid sometimes. When two other workers come up to the roof, Min Suk pretends to yell at Soo Young for interrupting his lunch. Back inside, Min Suk tries to hold her hand but she wants to keep a line between her professional and private lives. Min Suk pretends to agree but then hooks her arm with his and they skip off together like a pair of preschool kids.

When the camera pans up, we see that Jin Woo has seen and heard everything. He scoffs, but isn’t surprised, and confronts her soon after. Trying to insult her, he says he doesn’t like cheap women and that she seemed to change her mind awfully fast. But Soo Young is no longer afraid or intimated by him and gets the last word in, saying at least Min Suk isn’t two-faced.

While Soo Young’s is in one of the stalls, two of the workers come in to the bathroom and start discussing Min Suk and how happy he seems lately. They correctly assume that he’s started dating someone and wonder what kind of girl would be going out with the handsome and successful director. Soo Young smiles and says in her head “It’s me!” Oh gosh, too cute. Then the talk turns to their own love lives and one of them recounts the story of her boyfriend pretending to miss the last bus back from a trip so that they could have sex. A wide-eyed Soo Young listens as they say that when a guy takes you on a trip it basically means he wants to sex you up, and if the man doesn’t touch you it’s as good as saying he’s not sexually attracted to you.

Slowly making her way out of the bathroom, Soo Young thinks back to Min Suk’s words about planning something for the two of them to do for an official date. She literally runs into him seconds later and he starts suggesting that the two of them go on a trip together. Ooooo, she agrees but then quickly makes an escape. With nothing but the dirty on her mind, she puts the question of whether Min Suk’s intentions are pure or not to the internet. The immediate and overwhelming response is to confirm that his intentions are anything but pure. Soo Young giggles, embarrassed.

In his office, Min Suk is looking at an email from his coach when Jin Woo comes in. He shuts the laptop quickly and Jin Woo gives him an update on their joint project. Jin Woo’s interest is piqued at Min Suk’s odd behavior with the laptop. He goes back to his own office and discusses the problem of Min Suk with his co-conspirator. Jin Woo hasn’t been able to find anything yet, but he’s sure that Min Suk is up to something and he’s not going to give up on trying to find out what.

Before going home for the day, Soo Young goes to get some sexy lingerie. Haha, not shying away from the sexy aspects of a relationship I see. Well done, drama, well done. Min Suk’s friends make the same assumption as Soo Young when they hear about the trip. Min Suk knocks them over the head and chastises them for their dirty thoughts.

Meanwhile, a scheming Jin Woo offers to go out for some drinks with Team Leader, whom he believes is in on whatever secret Min Suk is keeping. He proceeds to compliment Team Leader and get him drunk. Jin Woo gently pushes Team Leader into talking about Min Suk, but rather than getting anything juicy, all he hears are complaints.

At the Jung household, Yoo Ah comes home to find Soo Young with a bag full of things you bring on more than just a day out. She angrily asks Soo Young if she’s going to be spending the night and threatens to tell their mom. Wow, really, she’s an adult. Min Suk is at home on his computer when his Dad comes in. He tells him he’s reading strategical analysis for hockey and the Dad smiles indulgently, thinking Min Suk is looking up porn. Oh my god, this show is too great. Min Suk keeps denying it but the Dad just keeps smiling and leaves. That night, Soo Young dreams about the beginnings of some sexy times between her and Min Suk. She spends the whole night waking up, giggling, and then going back for some more naughty dream time. Hilarity aside for a second, who in the world wears their glasses to bed?

Arriving at the island the next day, they go to rent out some bicycles. They hold hands, take a walk, eat some snacks, snap some cute pictures, and are just adorable and coupely. They walk by some pensions and as Min Suk starts talking about them Soo Young begins flashing back to the conversation she overheard between the lady workers. Then Min Suk realizes he’s lost his cell phone and Soo Young remembers one of the women talking about how her boyfriend had pretended to lose his wallet to stall and miss the last bus. I love Soo Young’s face as she figures out what Min Suk’s trying to do. As if she wasn’t expecting it all along.

Soo Young suggests calling the phone and it turns out it was in his backpack the whole time. For some reason, her mood goes way down after that and it’s like she’s dreading the inevitable. But Min Suk actually hurries them along so that they don’t miss the last ferry, and Soo Young flashes back to the woman saying that if the man doesn’t try something while you’re out on a trip it means he’s not attracted to you. After that she’s in a really foul mood, and Min Suk finally notices something’s up with her.

Min Suk calls his friends to get some advice on Soo Young’s sour mood. When she tries to leave, he grabs her quick and her bag falls to the ground. Reaching down to help, Min Suk notices that her bag is full of underwear and toiletries. Min Suk goes into a state of shock as he realizes the implications.

Soo Young tries to deny it at first, but as Min Suk is continues to stare at her, speechless, she tells him what she was expecting and asking if he sees her as a woman. It’s only when she walks away again that Min Suk finally smiles and runs after her. He laughingly reassures her of how much he likes her. They make up quickly and Min Suk decides to bring her to an ice rink. Afterwards, they discuss skating skills, Soo Young mentions that her Dad died in a car accident, and Min Suk talks about his hyung. They fall asleep at the ice rink and wake up sneezing the next morning.

While they go out for breakfast, Jin Woo sneaks into Min Suk’s office. He starts digging through Min Suk’s emails, but only sees his hockey strategy analysis. Until a new message comes in from Min Suk’s hyung. The episode ends as Jin Woo hovers over the new message.
